Agri SA announces Board at the 2020 Congress

Agri SA congratulates the members of its Board who have been elected at the 2020 Congress. The Board is representative of the entire agricultural value chain, including Agri SA’s provincial affiliates, commodity organisations and corporate members.

“Covid-19 brought destruction to many sectors and especially the economy, but it afforded the agricultural sector and value chain to shine and provide food to the citizens of South Africa and still managed to export many products to various international markets. It is also the only sector that grew during this period, with 15%, showing again the importance of agriculture and its contribution to the economy. This shows the resilience of our sector” said Pierre Vercueil.

During the congress Pierre Vercueil was elected as Agri SA President. “I’m excited! With the assistance of the newly elected Board we will tackle various issues of importance to farmers. I rely on all our member organisations to work with us to achieve the necessary success”.

Pierre is a grain and livestock farmer from the North West province. He is a former president of Agri North West and served on may boards over time and bring valuable experience as a leader.
